PAS to hold mass protest against Trump on Gaza genocide
PAS wants to have a face-to-face meeting with US President Donald Trump to voice their protest about Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, said party secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan.
He said PAS is also planning a mass rally to protest the issue if Trump attends the 47th Asean Summit in Kuala Lumpur later this month.
“Firstly, we need to be sure if he will attend (the summit). If he really comes here, then why not? As Malaysians, we can go and see him.
“Even if he does not want to meet us, we will hold a mass protest, which is being planned.
“This protest goes across race and culture, even the people in Western countries have held mass protests, what more us Malaysians (in this) Madani (era).
“It makes no sense for us to welcome Trump, whose hands are covered in Palestinians’ blood,” Takiyuddin told a press conference held at PAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

As the Asean chair, Malaysia has extended an invitation to the US president to attend the association’s summit planned for this month.
The decision had received brickbats from many quarters who believed Trump, a staunch supporter of Israel, should not be invited to Malaysia.
However, the government had remained firm on its decision, with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim saying the summit would provide a diplomatic platform to continue raising the issue of Palestine.
‘Umno should join anti-URA protest’
Meanwhile, during the press conference, Takiyuddin also spoke about the party’s planned rally to protest the proposed Urban Renewal Act (URA).
He said PAS was still hopeful that Umno would join the demonstration, which will be held in front of the Sogo shopping complex in Kuala Lumpur this Sunday (Oct 4).

According to the Kota Bharu MP, they were still puzzled how the bill reached the Dewan Rakyat when Umno, which is part of the cabinet, did not agree to the proposal.
“Outside the cabinet, the Umno deputy president had stated that the party did not support the bill. So, we are a bit puzzled.
“But we hope that Umno MPs and leaders will join us this Oct 4 to protest URA,” he said.
Previously, PAS Youth, which is in charge of organising the “Mega Rally to Reject the URA”, said they were expecting a turnout of 50,000 demonstrators.
