The process to secure the release of 23 Malaysian activists from Israeli detention has been delayed due to the Jewish Yom Kippur religious celebration, said Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan.

Mohamad told a press conference this morning that all government offices in Israel were closed due to the festive event, which had also affected communications with the detainees, who were part of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF).
