More than 54,600 children are suffering from acute malnutrition in Gaza, according to estimates from a United Nations study published on Wednesday, reported German Press Agency (dpa).

From January 2024 to mid-August 2025, United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) health staff screened nearly 220,000 children for malnutrition.
