The Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) stated that its decision to apply for a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) for Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on graft charges linked to Yayasan Akalbudi funds was “in strict compliance with the law.”
In a statement, the AGC explained that its DNAA application on Zahid’s 47 charges of criminal breach of trust, corruption, and money laundering on Sept 4, 2023, was based on the circumstances at the time, including the need for further investigations.
