Police have launched an investigation into an alleged conspiracy to topple the government and sabotage the country's stability, which Bukit Aman said involved an "influential individual" and an international media agency.

In a statement, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail said the probe is being carried out under Section 124B of the Penal Code after police received a report over the alleged conspiracy yesterday.
