• The Health Ministry has ordered a comprehensive structural and digital audit of Hospital Ampang to address underlying issues stemming from its ageing infrastructure.

  Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad was reported by Bernama as saying yesterday that the ministry is moving with urgency to restore normalcy and that patient safety remains a non-negotiable priority.

  

  Last Friday, health news portal CodeBlue reported that Ampang Hospital’s outdated electronic Hospital Information System broke down for 33 hours over two days.

Court

• The Tenom Magistrates’ Court will decide today whether or not preacher Ebit Lew will have to enter his defence on a sexual harassment case.

  Lew, 38, is accused of sending obscene images and messages via WhatsApp to a woman in her 40s between March and June 2021, in conduct said to have outraged her modesty.

  

  He is charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both.
