• Putra president Ibrahim Ali has presented a formal letter to the Malay rulers, proposing two new pro-monarchy laws: the Sovereignty of the Rulers Act and the National Loyalty Act.

  In a statement, Putra said the move is in accordance with the proclamation made at the Daulat Tuanku assembly on May 16.

  Ibrahim (above, right), representing the Secretariat Rakyat Bertindak, handed the letter to Keeper of the Rulers' Seal Syed Danial Syed Ahmad and explained that the proposal was an effort to strengthen the sovereignty of the Malay rulers institution, preserve harmony, and uphold the position of the Malay rulers and Islam.

  The initiative also aimed at addressing concerns over alleged ongoing insults toward the royal institution and protecting the constitutional monarchy system, Putra added. 

Politics 

• PAS has questioned the Madani government’s treatment of its representatives, after Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung became the latest to lose his access to the portal related to constituency funds.

  PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said he sympathised with Lee over the incident. 

  

  "If this is how the Harapan government treats its own lawmakers, what is the guarantee that they can be fair to the rakyat? That is why I say this Madani government is not a reformist government," he said on Facebook. 

City development

• Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar expressed his views and advice on the future development of Kuala Lumpur, calling for a focus on governance and urban management.

  In a Facebook post today, he emphasised the importance of effective administration, efficient public service delivery, and sustained efforts to raise living standards in the city.

  

  Sultan Ibrahim underscored the need for balanced development and consistent attention to the people’s welfare, ensuring that policies and planning deliver broad benefits. 

  Earlier, he granted an audience to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh, who briefed him on Kuala Lumpur’s reform agenda.
