Politics 

• The Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) under the Prime Minister’s Department (PMD) in a statement today said it noted the complaints by Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung and Subang MP Wong Chen, who were recently banned from accessing the MyKhas portal.

  However, the unit did not address the reasons behind the action, except to say they will directly handle and ensure funding for the constituencies is continued.

  

  “ICU PMD will also continue to fulfil its role as a coordinating agency in an orderly and professional manner to ensure that government programmes and initiatives are implemented smoothly, systematically, and effectively for the benefit of the public,” it said.

Corruption

• Businessperson Albert Tei says he has yet to receive any legal letters from former MACC chief Azam Baki over his claims that the latter had abused his power and threatened him.

  

  Azam was previously reported as saying that he would be taking legal action on Wednesday, which is yesterday.

  Tei said he is eagerly awaiting the lawsuit so he can expose Azam’s wrongdoings in court.

Education 

• Four Malaysian students who are doing their pharmacy doctorate at Egypt’s Alexandria University are seeking Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s intervention after the government refused to recognise the programme.

  This came after the Malaysian Pharmacy Board (MPB) barred them from sitting the qualifying examination required to complete their degree, despite having enrolled at the university through offer letters issued by the Higher Education Ministry.

  

  “I hope the prime minister will give due attention to our issue, and I hope he can help us so that we may undergo our training in Malaysia and continue to serve the country,” said one of the students, Nurul Izzah Afifah Mustapha.
