State elections

  • DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke said Pakatan Harapan would have preferred simultaneous Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections, but will abide by the Election Commission's (EC) decision.

Stressing that the government does not interfere in the EC's affairs, Loke said the institution's independence must be respected, even when its determinations go against political hopes.

  • PKR deputy secretary-general Bryan Ng accused Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung of betraying the mandate given to him by party members when he resigned from PKR’s central leadership council.

In a statement last night, Ng claimed that Lee's move has weakened Petaling Jaya’s influence within the ruling party without bringing any tangible benefit to constituents.

He also rejected Lee’s claim that his views were ignored, and alleged that Lee had not attended any central leadership council meetings since November 2025.

On the issue of access to the MyKhas system, Ng said Petaling Jaya residents have not been deprived of assistance, as applications for allocations can still be made through existing channels.

Ng also broadened his criticism to include former PKR leaders Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, accusing them and their allies of being unable to accept the outcome of internal party elections.
