N SEMBILAN POLLS | DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has advised his fellow cabinet member and BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi against speaking arrogantly when campaigning for the state election.

This came after Zahid called for Chennah voters to vote out Loke, who is defending the seat from BN’s John Siow, for supposedly failing to bring development to the constituency despite having been its elected representative for three consecutive terms.

Speaking to reporters during a walkabout at the Titi Public Market this morning, the transport minister said voters know better of his services at the constituency, and it will be up to them to decide whether to send him packing or otherwise.

“First of all, as fellow members of the cabinet, there is no need for such arrogant speak.

“We campaign positively. Whether ‘dibungkus’ or otherwise, it is up to the rakyat. The voters will make the decision,” Loke added.

According to the DAP leader, Chennah is a rural constituency that needs much infrastructure, and there have been many upgrades done since he took over the state seat.

‘Don’t forget shared responsibility’

Loke also reminded Zahid that Chennah is under the Jelebu Parliament, a seat held by Negeri Sembilan BN chief Jalaluddin Alias.

“Don’t forget that Chennah is part of Jelebu, so there is a shared responsibility,” he said.

During a campaign event in Simpang Durian yesterday, Zahid urged voters to “kasi bungkus” Loke (send Loke packing) and give the BN candidate a chance to develop the constituency.

“Siow is the new hope for Chennah.

“He will win Chennah and bring development to the constituency,” the Umno president told the attendees.
