Chua sex tape: Reveal findings, cops told

MCA Youth have asked the police to release their findings on the circulation of the sex tape involving former party vice-president Dr Chua Soi Lek in order to put an end to vicious gossip on the matter.

Youth legal bureau chief Gan Ping Sieu lodged a report at the Dang Wangi police station in Kuala Lumpur this morning, seeking the outcome of the investigations.

Gan stressed that the report was not meant to target any individual, but to prompt the police to quickly respond to the issue.

“We want the police to carry out investigations (if they have not done so already) so that the matter will be settled (quickly),” he said.

“The issue has been hanging in the air for five months. This is not good for party leaders and members as it will create confusion (especially) among the grassroots.”

Chinese-language dailies have reported last week that Chua had implied that party's Youth chief and Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai (left) was allegedly a member of the spy squad which was said to be behind the circulation of the sex tape that surfaced in late December last year.

Chua did not accuse anyone in particular

Oriental Daily News today front-paged a report that MCA Youth would lodge a police report against Chua.

However, Gan, who is based in Johor, said Chua has denied having made any such allegation.

“I think the media has given the (wrong) impression (that Chua has accused anyone),” said Gan, in clarifying that the police report today was not made against Chua.

Chua has consistently claimed that “political enemies” had orchestrated the release of a video showing him having sex with “a personal friend” in a hotel room in Johor.

He later said he thinks he knows who is responsible for secretly recording the footage, but conceded that he has no proof .

Following the exposé, Chua resigned from all his party posts - including that of Johor MCA liaison chief - and as health minister in early January.
