Selangor Intelligent Parking concession

• The PJ Sejahtera Secretariat has raised concerns over the alleged non-compliance with a Selangor Freedom of Information ruling involving documents linked to the Selangor Intelligent Parking (SIP) concession.
  
  The case concerns an FOI appeal seeking documents on the SIP concession involving Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) and its subsidiary, Rantaian Mesra Sdn Bhd (RMSB).
  
  On April 14, the Selangor Information Board ordered the Selangor State Secretary’s Office to disclose 15 categories of documents within 21 days, with the deadline expiring on May 5.
  
  In a statement today, the group said it presented the case to Parliament’s Special Select Committee on the Freedom of Information Bill at a public hearing on Sept 28, and that it had also submitted its written submission to the committee chair, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Azalina Othman Said.
  
  However, the group said that over 140 days later, 13 of the 15 categories remain outstanding, and claimed that MBI had disclosed nothing, while RMSB had only partially complied with three categories.

Helicopter crash

• Police have found no evidence of foul play in the Flying Doctor Service (FDS) helicopter crash in Long Lellang, Ulu Baram, which killed five people, with the investigation now close to completion.
  
  The Borneo Post reported Sarawak police commissioner and Bukit Aman management director Zainal Abdullah saying that police had spoken to several witnesses as part of the probe, including those linked to places visited by the helicopter and its crew before the crash.

  

  “So far, we have not found anything that indicates what actually caused the incident.
  
  “As for other elements, including foul play and so on, we have not seen any indication of that,” he reportedly said, adding that the police are yet to establish what caused the helicopter to crash.
