Authorities will investigate allegations that a teacher forced a group of 13-year-old students to watch porn as punishment for not doing their homework.

Education Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said several parents had lodged complaints after their children, who are students at a government-run school in Johor, informed them of the teacher's unusual punishment.

"I will order the Johor education director to investigate. We will take stern action if the complaint is true," the minister was quoted as saying by the New Straits Times .

"If there is concrete evidence of misconduct, we will not hesitate to mete out the appropriate punishment," he said.

The teacher had allegedly ordered the students, comprising boys and girls, into the school's audio-visual room, closed the curtains and ordered them to watch the pornographic movie, saying it was their punishment for failing to do their homework.

The principal of the school declined to comment on the incident, said the report.
