Petronas gas for Japan's Chubu Electric

Malaysia's national oil corporation Petronas signed an agreement Tuesday to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Japanese power company Chubu Electric for 20 years from 2011.
Malaysia's national oil corporation Petronas signed an agreement Tuesday to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Japanese power company Chubu Electric for 20 years from 2011.
The agreement provides for the supply of up to 540,000 metric tonnes of LNG per annum sourced from its Bintulu complex in Sarawak.
Chubu Electric is the third largest power company in Japan, supplying electricity to about 16 million people in five prefectures in central Japan. It is also the second-largest importer of LNG in Japan.
