The nation's number two shuttler, Wong Choong Hann will continue his career for the country although his tendon injury will force him to be inactive for nearly six months, Bernama reported today.

The lanky sportman said his priority now is to go for surgery in Malaysia and will think about his career later.

"I'm okay. I'm not worried about my career as my focus now is to get the best surgeon in Malaysia," he told reporters before leaving for the Narita Airport.

Second seed Malaysia advanced into the semi-finals without the team's captain on board by defeating South Korea 3-2 in the Thomas Cup quarter-finals held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Stadium yesterday.

A ruptured Achilles' tendon saw second singles Choong Hann conceding his tie to Park Sung Hwan to give South Korea a 2-1 lead.

The country's third singles, Muhd Hafiz Hashim clinched the winning point in the third singles against Jang Young Soo of South Korea. Hafiz won 21-17, 21-10.
