The faction led by Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) deputy president Sng Chee Hua will hold an extra-ordinary delegates conference (EDC) on September 9 at a beach resort near Kuching to elect a new leader to succeed censured president Dr James Masing.

This was decided at a supreme council meeting chaired by Sng yesterday.

However, the Masing group said they would not be involved nor attend the EDC

"As far we are concerned, the EDC is not being properly called in accordance with the party constitution in the way we interpret it'" a spokesperson of the group said.
