R Subashini's appeal to the Federal Court today has been postponed to tomorrow.

The 28-year-old Hindu woman was last given an interim injunction from the Court of Appeal restraining her Muslim-convert husband Muhammad Shafi Saravanan Abdullah (formerly T Saravanan), 31, from pursuing his claims in the Islamic court on March 30.

Muhammad Shafi is currently seeking the custody of their two children - aged three and one - and a decree of divorce from Subashini in the Syariah Court.

Her lawyer K Shanmuga when contacted by malaysiakini said he did not know the reason for the postponement.

Subashini's case was made famous when she was told to seek legal redress from the Syariah Court by the Court of Appeal on March 13 drawing an uproar from civil rights groups and political parties.
