Malaysia's top lender Maybank on Wednesday reported a 15 percent rise in annual net profit, led by better revenue and robust international operations.
Full-year net profit jumped to RM3.178 billion (US$908 million) against RM2.772 billion a year earlier.
Maybank, officially known as Malayan Banking, said net profit in its fourth quarter to June rose to RM1.076 billion from 840.62 million in the same period last year, spurred by higher net interest income.
The bank also attributed the strong performance to increased revenue, transactional income from increased volume, and good international operations.
Amirsham Aziz, Maybank chief executive officer, said the integration of their insurance businesses also helped to contribute to the strong performance.
