’PAS leaks’ conspiracy
Leaders in PAS, Bersatu, Pejuang, and Umno were implicated in an alleged conspiracy to put Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi behind bars.
The purported conspiracy was part of a "leaked document" that summarised meetings between PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and another party leader with the other political figures between March 24 and April 7.
Umno leaders aligned to Zahid are pressuring the government, as well as those named, to shed further light on the matter.
Samsuri admitted to meeting some of those named in the conspiracy, but said the document itself was rubbish and had spelt his name wrong.
So far, Samsuri is the only one of eight political figures named in the so-called leaked document to have commented on it.

Immigration escape
Migrants held at an Immigration Department detention centre in Penang staged a pre-dawn escape.
The migrants, believed to be mostly from the Rohingya community, reportedly broke out using their bare hands.
A total of 528 escaped the detention centre. At least 357 have since been captured.
Six of the escapees were killed in a road accident.
Earlier this month, the government detailed in Parliament that more than 4,000 migrants remain held in immigration detention centres nationwide for more than a year.
The North South Initiative group believes that many of those languishing at the depots are refugees and asylum seekers.

KK hospitals breaking down
Two hospitals in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah suffered from utility failures that disrupted surgeries and other services.
Two days ago, Queen Elizabeth Hospital (HQE) suffered a severe power outage forcing staff to manually ventilate patients, and transfer outpatients to sister facility Queen Elizabeth Hospital II (HQE2).
Yesterday, HQE2 was then hit by a burst pipe, forcing staff to resort to makeshift measures to divert water pouring from the ceiling.
The burst pipe caused elective surgeries at HQE2 to be postponed.
Meanwhile, all operation theatres at HQE were closed yesterday and today, to ensure that the intensive care units have electricity to remain operational.

Education Minister Mohd Radzi Md Jidin and other ministry officials snubbed summons from the parliamentary select committee (PSC) on education, allegedly on orders from the cabinet.
