Alleged Malay 'erasure' in Penang
The organiser of the George Town Festival (GTF) 2024 was accused of erasing Penang's Malay community after a promotional video excluded Malay cultural aspects.
Critics claimed it appeared to show that there were only Chinese and Indians in the state.
The organisers have since apologised and removed the video while stressing that Malays have always been involved in the programme including this year.
