Fifa debunks FAM's 'grandfather' story
Fifa has released grounds that strengthen its claim that the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) had forged documents of seven foreign players who were granted citizenship.
The FAM and National Registration Department (NRD) have asserted that the seven have grandparents who were born in Malaysia.
However, Fifa's own investigators found original documents that the grandparents were actually born in Argentina, Brazil, Spain, and the Netherlands.
Previously, FAM claimed it was sanctioned due to a "technical error".

Storm in a beer mug
Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing faced a barrage of criticism from government and opposition parties after wining and dining at a tourism industry gala dinner.
Tiong's efforts to clarify that the event - originally meant to be hosted by the government - ended up being organised and paid for by industry players failed to assuage critics, who insist that any government-linked events should not feature alcohol.
The backlash prompted Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to issue a stern reminder to Tiong not to repeat such an episode.
