Anwar’s new year resolutions
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has pledged that a number of reforms will be implemented this year.
This includes a two-term limit for the prime minister, and separating the roles of public prosecutor and the attorney-general.
Anwar also aims to get a freedom of information (FOI) law in place, as well as an ombudsman office to resolve complaints against the public sector.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry aims to ban vapes this year.
Delivering on reforms this year will be crucial for Anwar and Pakatan Harapan, to show their supporters that they can deliver on promises before a general election is held in 2027.
