PM, TMJ at odds over Johor funds
Last week, during a Pakatan Harapan ceramah in Johor, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim remarked that the state was rich, but there were many leakages due to corruption.
Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, however, had a different opinion.
He said that the problem is Putrajaya sharing a small sum of federal revenue back to the states.
As the Johor regent puts it, the state generated more than RM40 billion for the federal government but received less than 10 percent back.
He then reiterated previous calls for the government to give at least a quarter of federal revenue back to states.

Bersatu rebels’ new multiracial party
Parti Wawasan Negara, the new party of ex-Bersatu rebels led by Hamzah Zainudin, has been confirmed as a multiracial outfit.
Hamzah, as president, will be partnered with former Johor Bersatu associate wing chief Tan Lek Khang as deputy president.
This is one of the rare times a non-Malay has been the number two of a party led by a Malay.
Other non-Malay leaders in Wawasan Negara include former Parti Cinta Malaysia president Huan Cheng Guan and ex-Pahang Bersatu associate wing chief Leong Kim Soon as two of five vice-presidents.
Huan - who has been out of mainstream politics for over a decade - isn’t the only relic in the party leadership. Former Senate president Rais Yatim is also the party’s chairperson, while former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik is also a vice-president.
