Undocumented migrant workers arrested during an Immigration Department operation at a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur on May 17.

They await transportation to an immigration detention centre.

On May 16, UK-based The Guardian had highlighted alleged abuses in Malaysian immigration detention centres with detainees allegedly being forced to drink toilet water.  

However, Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamed claimed the report was "grossly misleading".
