Jalan Raja Laut 1 was officially renamed as Jalan Palestin by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

DBKL mayor Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan said the name change was mooted during the International Quds Day gathering in Kuala Lumpur last year.

The International Quds Day is an annual event to express support for Palestinians who are unable to achieve statehood amid a conflict with Israel.
