Some newspapers praised Housing and Local Government Ong Ka Ting setting an example by using the ERL from Purtajaya to KL Sentral, and then Putra LRT to reach Jalan Ampang before walking to Wisma MCA.
There is nothing wrong in Ong using the ERL and LRT from Putrajaya to Wisma MCA. The truth, however, was that Ong traveled by car from his Damansara office to Putrajaya, then he used public transport form Putrajaya to Wisma MCA while at the same time his empty car was driven by his driver from Putrajaya to Wisma MCA to fetch him later.
Can this the method result in fuel saving? It is only a cheap way for politicians to get publicity. To really save fuel, one has to use public transport for the whole journey.
You cannot save petrol by asking your driver to drive you to point A while you travel by public transport from point A to point B but ask your driver to drive your empty car from point A to point B to fetch you later at point B!
