I read with utter dismay our prime minister's decision to gag the Article 11 forums. For someone who had proclaimed he is the prime minister of all Malaysians, this order smacks of racism, injustice and bias.

The least he could have done was get his facts right before making a decision. If he thinks the Article 11 foum organisers are keeping alive the inter-faith issue, then he has not been reading the dailies or has obviously been fed false information.

Either that or he chooses to think the way he does because it is expedient and position-preserving to do so.

The Article 11 coalition submitted more than 18,000 signatures to him in June, surely with a cover note explaining its poistion.

Had the PM read it, he would have known Article 11 focused on the supremacy of the constitution and every issue discussed eventually tied up with the constitution.

If this trend of decisions being made based on falsehood continues, the only thing that rational, moderate Malaysians (and thank God they are represented by every race in this country) can do is give voice to their frustrations and loss of faith in the next general elections.
