I would like to refer to the letter Project M a betrayal of Sabahans by David Dass. Obviously, Dass is angry at the fact that hundreds of thousands of illegal foreigners were given instant citizenship to help a certain political party to win.

I am sure many more Malaysians in Sarawak and the Peninsula would be disgusted if they only knew the scale of the problem. In fact, some of the Project IC holders are now in West Malaysia posing as Sabahans. Many of them are working in factories, especially in Johor. There are also quite a number of them studying in local universities over there.

What is even more disgusting is that there are reports that former chief minister Harris Salleh was actively involved in the issuance of Project M identity cards. This is not surprising when we read the press statements by Yayasan Islam Sabah (YIS) about the illegal Malaysians. YIS is a non-governmental organisation that was set up by non-other than Harris himself.

A police report against these illegal Malaysians has been made. However, whether action would really be taken is something Sabahans are not really sure of. This is because the IC project involved a former senior federal government leader.

These illegal Malaysians will soon flood West Malaysia and possibly dilute the non-Malay demographics there too. As Malaysians, I hope we can all contribute to the revocation of citizenship of these illegals.
