Federal gov't: let's go all the way
Meng | Apr 30, 08 4:11pm

I refer to the Malaysiakini report 'Samy Vellu ordered temple demolition' and Samy says it's Khir's fault.

As time goes on, we hear more excuses from the BN leaders as to why they lost so badly. Finger- pointing as in the case of Khir Toyo and Samy Vellu. Some ministers choose to punish the rakyat by withdrawing federal funds from state agencies like the Penang State Tourism Board.

To add fuel to the rakyat’s anger, revelations of questionable land deals and transfer of funds like what happened in Balkis seem to justify the rakyat’s actions on March 8t. It appears the BN government still does not understand why the rakyat booted them out.

The arrogance continues while the rhetoric without action and plans that lack foresight continue to be the hallmark of this administration.

With an economic cloud looming over Malaysia and the region and the world, the Malaysian government continues to play politics. Our education system is in such a mess it is no wonder many new graduates from local universities are unemployable.

The Hindraf 5 continue to be detained under the draconian ISA and local small businesses still struggle to function under a less than encouraging government system from licensing to inland revenue.

We need more incentives for small businesses and enterprises instead of stifling their growth. Many now complain of ridiculous Inland Revenue rules which make it hard for businesses to survive.

The federal government is on auto-pilot and there is no vision painted for Malaysia. With all this occurring, I am now totally for the new Pakatan Rakyat coalition to take over the federal government as soon as strategically viable.

The country is heading nowhere if not downhill and as the cliché goes, ‘Rome burns while the emperor fiddles’. It is time to take it out of the hands of this racist government and bring back some form of accountability, sanity and rule of law.

Let it be in September which will ironically mark Anwar Ibrahim’s 10th anniversary of leaving public office in a most unceremonious way.
