The Ministry of Health said today that SJK (C) Jalan Davidson in Kuala Lumpur will be closed for seven days to prevent further infections from A(H1N1).

Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai had earlier said that the school may be closed for seven days to stop the spread of A(H1N1) in the school, after another one of its pupils tested positive for the deadly flu.

This comes after it was revealed that seven new confirmed A(H1N1) cases were reported, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 49.

The Year Five pupil of the school is a classmate of an 11-year-old girl who had tested positive after returning from holiday with her family in Melbourne. This means that the school has two confirmed cases so far.

Liow was distributing flyers about A(H1N1) to traders, hawkers and the public at Batu 11, Cheras in Kuala Lumpur today. He added that pupils in the school’s 5(I) class had been quarantined by the Health Ministry.
