A series of unfortunate events in Selangor, including the shocking death of a political aide, has led Pakatan Rakyat to believe that a conspiracy is at work.

NONE Fresh from a blog claiming that Pakatan reps may have had a hand in Teoh Beng Hock’s death, now the finger is being pointed at opposition Barisan Nasional instead.

Backed by 13 members of the Selangor state assembly backbenchers club, its vice-chairperson Ng Suee Lim raised the possibility of their rivals - namely Selangor Umno led by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak himself - pulling all the stops in a bid to wrest power by September.

"First they targeted Perak and now it is Selangor," the Sekinchan state assemblyperson told a press conference in Shah Alam today.

According to Ng, the alleged plot opened with the arrest of senior state exco and Seputeh parliamentarian Teresa Kok under the Internal Security Act (ISA) last year.

Chapter Two was the arrest of another exco Ronnie Liu , who was picked up for allegedly obstructing Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) enforcement officers during a vice raid on a hotel in Puchong a year earlier.

Ng then accused the authors of the alleged conspiracy of going after the big fish itself, Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim.

Milking the plot further, Ng said, the alleged conspirators had also accused the menteri besar of misusing RM110,400 of state funds to purchase cattle for his Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary constituency in conjunction with the Hari Raya Korban celebrations.

The plot then takes a sleazy twist with the DAP rep also blaming BN for the circulation of state exco Elizabeth Wong's sexually explicit photographs .

According to Ng, Teoh's death is the latest chapter.

NONE The political aide of exco Ean Yong Hian Wah is said to have plunged from the 14th floor office of the Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam.

Prior to his death, Teoh was grilled into the wee hours of the morning pertaining to the corruption allegation against his boss and 15 other Pakatan reps.

Ng stressed that BN’s ‘dirty tactics’ will not hinder Pakatan reps from fulfilling their duties.

“We will fight BN till the very end... we are prepared to have a face-off in the upcoming general election but we will not succumb to their level,” he said.

BN, he claimed, was utilising institutions such as the MACC and the police to topple the state government.
