The 'kapal' that cannot sink

your say 'There is no worldly title that is good enough for respect gained in your years of servitude to the nation. Surely true justice will prevail when the time comes. I pray that many more little Karpals like you will emerge as you continue to fight for justice.'

Karpal acquitted of sedition charge

Anonymous: Just imagine, if Malaysian courts have no Karpal Singh (and of course, the other righteous lawyers with conscience and principles), what would our judiciary be now?

Even with him and other like-minded lawyers around, our judiciary is already so disgustingly rotten. If Malaysia practices meritocracy, Karpal Singh would have been appointed a Federal Court judge, if not chief justice.

My salute to you, Mr Karpal Singh. You are great even without those honorific titles like Tun and Tan Sri.

Henry Hock: About 35 years ago, my Cantonese neighbours' little children and myself used to ask each other which ‘sing' (‘star' in Cantonese) that cannot sink. Everyone replied "Kapal Sing" ( kapal in Malay means ship) that will never sink!

I am sure all these kids have grown up by now and have read and watched every heroic act of Karpal Singh since then till now. We salute you! You shall always stay afloat.

Anonymous2: Karpal, at such times when all we hear is nay, nay and nay from the powers-that-be, this is a rare case (political that is) where we see truth and justice prevail.

There is no worldly title that is good enough for respect gained in your years of servitude to the nation. Surely true justice will prevail when the time comes. I pray that many more little Karpals like you will emerge as you continue to fight for justice.

Keep up the spirit of the Tiger of Jelutong. We are proud of you - Karpal Boleh!

Fido Dido: YB Karpal, you are the rakyat protector from the Umno bullies. Without you, one can imagine how many more people will be thrown into jail. You are the protector of the constitution and the rights of the rakyat. Your duties and responsibilities as MP is exemplary for all those in the legal fraternity. In spite of your handicap, you have shown your strength to ward off the Umno bullies.

Yuvan: Justice is served fair and right. A very rare occurrence in Malaysia these days. Congratulations to Karpal Singh. May he continue to walk tall and speak the truth with the same courage and confidence that he has always possessed.

Ferdtan: Karpal Singh is a giant of a man. Sack the attorney-general who charged YB (yang berhormat) Karpal without an iota of evidence. Stop the harassment of Pakatan Rakyat YBs. We want the country to be run by 'rule of law' and not 'rule by law'.

Wira: From the first day, it was already clear that there was no case against Karpal. The whole sham is an Umno show to perpetuate their harassment that DAP is anti-monarchy. It was also to keep Karpal's attention away from Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy defence. If those were their purposes, they had certainly fulfilled them.

Lim Chong Leong: The prosecution will appeal just to keep their pressure on Karpal, just like after the High Court in Ipoh decided in Mohamad Nizar Jamaluddin's favour. Let's not celebrate until the last of Umno tyrants are put in jail.

TSPat: If the prosecution has failed to prove a prima facie case against Karpal, then the person who made the police report must have made an inaccurate report. Karpal should consider suing him.

Tpn: In the first place, Karpal should have not been charged. Even an ordinary man in the street knows that what he said was not seditious. What a waste of taxpayers' money. On what basis did the AG charge him anyway?

NoLawyer: Congratulation Mr Karpal. Justice has prevailed. Well, you should now accept the fact that justice will always be prevailed. As such, you should extent justice to the public at large by arguing and speaking the truth for all sides.

This includes the issue of Prime Minister Najib Razak offering allocation to the public in the Hulu Selangor and Sibu by-elections. I will salute you if you stand and tell the truth if what Najib has said in both occasions was "corruption" because you was the one who represented your client in the famous case of Pengkalan Kota.

Karpal should gain back his dignity and professionalism by telling the right decision on matters pertaining to law interpretations not mislead the public.

Anyway, have a nice day. Happy birthday to you. May God bless you with good health and happiness to serve the public with integrity, honesty, accountability and justice.

Cala: Well done, Mr Karpal Singh. Many would have gotten away for murmuring the same words, but not you. You are such a towering a figure in the eyes of your detractors that even your gentle reminder may sound like a harsh admonition to them. You are the voices of the people.

CarL: Karpal has defended the poorest of people, and this man has my respect. Unfortunately he cannot lead PKR and become PM. Hopefully his two sons will follow in his footsteps. He is a fighter for all peoples, and will go down in history as a champion. Certainly he is a living champion to what multiracialism is all about.

Dappy: We are so happy and proud of you for your firm beliefs. We are also thankful to the newly promoted judge Azman Abdullah, a good and upright judge who dared to uphold justice. We hope that he will not have to face the wrath of the government and be put into ‘cold storage'.

Mohamed Azman Taufik: Singh is king!
