The internal crisis faced by PKR in Selangor that led to a conspiracy to topple Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim shows his weakness in administering the state.
Selangor Umno liaison deputy chairperson Noh Omar said the "increasingly interesting" political scenario in the state gave the message to Abdul Khalid that his leadership had been rejected not only by the PKR leaders but also the rakyat in the state.
"Many things have been neglected by Khalid in the administration of Selangor such as meddling in the affairs of other people as in the case of the redevelopment of Kampung Baru instead of championing the cause of the people in Selangor," he told reporters after opening the Kota Bharu Umno Youth delegates meeting today.
The press today reported a conspiracy by 15 PKR members of parliament to topple Abdul Khalid as they were disappointed and dissatisfied with the administration of the Selangor state by the menteri besar who appeared to be managing a corporate body.
Commenting on the matter further, Noh, who is also the minister of agriculture and agro-based industry, said Selangor was actually being administered by a weak party.
Meanwhile, Noh urged Umno Youth to continue to be active in registering new voters as was being done by the opposition.
"We must be aggressive and emulate them who are going all out to register new voters and recruit new members, and I feel that Umno Youth is rather slow in this aspect," he said.
