'Namewee a creation of our DPM'

vox populi small thumbnail 'I must ask the authorities to look at what created Namewee. It is the behaviour of people like our deputy prime minister that created the likes of Namewee.'

Nah! - Namewee quizzed again

Mukh M: I will not condone racism. That Namewee tends to be one and his use of expletives makes me distance myself from him. But I must ask the authorities to look at what created Namewee. It is the behaviour of people like our deputy prime minister that created the likes of Namewee.

Our DPM has done nothing about the two alleged racist teachers though he has echoed the prime minister's statement that there will be zero tolerance for racism. Yet nothing has been done about the two teachers.

But in the case of this young boy, action is swift. It goes to show that our PM, his deputy and our police force are all racists.

Cal: I thought Namewee was a mere ‘postman' for faithfully replaying what had transpired. To be seen to be fair, the authorities should have charged the two racist culprits for first uttering racist remarks.

A Coward: Has the schoolmistress been questioned like Namewee. I suppose the answer is ‘no'! This is the usual practice of the Umno government. Though I can see signs of changes from PM Najib but the core of Umno shows no sign of change. To play safe, let us change the government at least once. By then all the unwanted ones will move away from Umno.

JBGUY: I have reliable information that the racist principal from the Kulai school is now working in the Johor State Education Department. So if someone utters seditious statements, they are actually feted and given promotions.

What are the PM and DPM doing about this gross injustice? Namewee is persecuted but the real culprits are free to do as they please. What kind of justice is this?

Namewee issue: Khairy takes on Kit Siang

Rajm: During the Umno general assembly, Khairy Jamaluddin said it and it goes somewhat like this: 'Just because a certain race is on leave, we are not being able to read the presidential speech in the newspapers'.

Ask yourself, do two mistakes make a right. We Malaysians are fed up. If a Malay or Umno member is racist, no action is taken, no police interrogation or harassment. That's the reason Namewee could not tolerate this double standard.

Khairy, you are wrong in your analysis. Namewee is right and he is only demonstrating how the non-Malays feel. Sometimes you have to have a taste of your own medicine.

Tristan: Eh Khairy, as an analogy to your Indian newspaper vendor rationale, if I say ‘90 percent of the civil service is Malay and that's why my application has been rejected', that would be okay, right? And if nine out of 10 people asked about your Umno general assembly statement say that it reeks of racism, that too would be correct too?

I always thought you were smarter than that but I now understand that it is wrong to assume that a guy who speaks perfect English (with an accent to boot) is rational as well.

PKFZ: Ling wants cabinet papers declassified

Anonymous: Yes, declassify cabinet documents regarding the PKFZ issue. If there is nothing to hide, there is nothing to hide. Be transparent. Do not hide under the ‘sarong' of the OSA, please. Take off the ‘sarong' and let us see the nakedness of the whole issue.

Cala: All the wrongdoings of Ling Liong Sik point to the direction of Dr Mahathir Mohamad. The land value (approximately 1,000 acres) was RM25 per square foot, inclusive of interest for the deferred payment over a 15-year period at 7.5% per annum.

But Ling was purportedly recommending paying Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd a much higher rate per square foot to the cabinet, excluding the interest charge. As can be seen, here lies the contentious issue since the difference between the two amounts to a hefty sum of RM720 million.

In declassifying cabinet papers, Ling is now trying to show that he was not the decision-maker for the deal as anything that dealt with land value fell on the lap of the finance minister (who was Mahathir).

Sure, one should not judge Ling's character by merely focusing on this RM25 per square foot PKFZ episode. But how about his son at the tender age of 28, could have three listed companies under his hands? Remember businessman Soh Chee Wen? Are we saying Ling had nothing to do with that?

MM: Will the attorney-general hold back all these cabinet papers and the minutes from Ling? Ling is likely to admit to a lot of things, and with the minutes and all the evidence, others in the cabinet will feel threatened.

The AG will then get the prosecutors and the defence to work in tandem and at the end of the day, OC Phang will be the sacrificial lamb, whom they'll assure a way out at the appellate court level. It's the same story.

Baronhawk: Declassify the cabinet papers which Raja Petra Kamarudin already leaked, which showed that the cabinet was fully aware of the circumstances of the deal? Wouldn't that mean the entire cabinet was the one cheating the rakyat and not only Ling Liong Sik?

Speculatively, of course. It may not free Ling but maybe ‘tarik' in more faces to join him in the dock. Wouldn't that be great? The entire cabinet should be in the dock where they should be perhaps considering the sad state of affairs under their administration.

Pemerhati: KK Wong was the defence counsel in the high-profile Altantuya Shaariibuu trial which turned out to be a big farce. Can anyone be blamed for concluding that Wong's presence in this very high-profile case indicates that it is going to be another big farce?

In the Altantuya trial, the game plan was to get Abdul Razak Baginda acquitted and protect those who had masterminded her murder. In that case, the prosecution, defence and the judge ‘cooperated' to get the desired verdict. It now looks as though they are going to use their previous experience and conduct a similar farcical trial and obtain a pre-arranged verdict.

Call me Jibby: When the situation turns ugly, Ling will try to pull someone down with him. It looks like more secrets will be told in the court. But he will be acquitted before more ugly truths come out from his mouth.

Anonymous: Are they going to deny Ling the cabinet documents pertaining to his charge like how they denied Anwar Ibrahim the hospital documents?

Wong Jiang Fung: The judge will now say: ‘There is no provision that says the defence is entitled to such documents and the prosecution is not obliged to release such documents.' Good luck to you, Tun Ling.

Habib RAK: Karma is at work here. The punishment that these men suffer for all their injustices is that they are becoming bitter old men. At their late age, they are embroiled in accusing one another and suffering from public shame.

ABIL: Mahathir's willingness to testify is a double-edged sword - he can make you a scapegoat by merely saying that he cannot remember anything as it happened a long time ago, just like in the VK Lingam tape inquiry. Be forewarned.
