Padang Serai MP N Gobalakrishnan is continuing his tirade against PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, and this time has challenged him to reopen a Hindu temple in Selangor.

The fiery first-term MP issued an ultimatum to Anwar to reopen the Sivan temple on Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya, after claiming that Anwar was the one who personally instructed that the temple be closed down.

NONE Gobalakrishnan ( left ), who is widely known as Gobala, said if the temple was not reopened within a week, he would organise a nationwide roadshow to "expose Anwar of his misdeeds against Hindus".

"If that temple is not reopened within a week, what we will do first is to march to the temple, and then we will do the roadshow," he told a press conference this morning.

Also present were MIC Youth information chief S Subramaniam and former MIC CWC member KP Samy, who is known for his work in the Gerakan Anti-Samy (GAS) movement, which has since been disbanded.

A NONE sked if he had met the menteri besar or the Selangor government about his request, Gobalakrishnan merely said that they were fully aware of his grouses.

"But every time they come back to me with unsatisfactory and unreasonable excuses, saying that the temple authorities did not submit the proper plans.

"They should know that most of the temples in the country do not have proper plans," he said.

He also named Anwar, along with Selangor exco member Dr Xavier Jeyakumar and Subang MP R Sivarasa, as being instrumental in closing down the temple.

Temple causing soil erosion?

It was previously reported that a stop-work order on the Sivan temple's expansion work was issued way back in 2007 - before Pakatan Rakyat took over the Selangor government - when it caused soil erosion on Bukit Gasing,

The Sun had also reported that only an area of 1,400 sq m was approved for the temple but the final plans showed it occupying 5,400 sq m.

NONE Gobalakrishnan said the temple ( right ) had never been reopened since the stop-work order was imposed.

The lawmaker also confidently said that the temple was not causing any land erosion.

"How can it cause land erosion? It has been built on a rock for the past 100 years. But I am no geologist lah ," he said with a disclaimer.

The Sivan temple had apparently been Gobalakrishnan's main grouse against the PKR leadership, besides the plight of the Coalfield estate workers, whom he claimed were displaced by the Selangor government.

Although most of his rage surfaced on micro-blogging website Twitter after the announcement of the new PKR appointments in the party leadership, he insisted that he was not sore about not being appointed.

'Anwar anti-Hindu'

Reserving his harshest criticism for Anwar ( below ), Gobalakrishnan also called him ‘anti-Hindu' and said the opposition leader did not care for the welfare of the Indians.

NONE "Just look at the Selangor exco line-up. There's not a single Hindu in there," he said, while repeatedly insisting that he was not racist.

"It's good that there are a lot of Christians (in the line-up). But I want (the party) to think again, whether it can really understand the needs of the Indian community," he said.

He insisted that he was still a PKR member and had no plan to leave the party.

"I am not going to resign. The only way they can get rid of me is by sacking me. I hope they don't because if they do, I am going to talk a lot more about Anwar," Gobalakrishnan added.
