Nine Selangor territorial chiefs have lodged a police report against Seri Muda assemblyperson Shuhaimi Shafiei for allegedly undermining the sultan of Selangor's authority in appointing the state secretary in his blog.

Speaking on behalf of the territorial chiefs, Gombak territorial chief Raja Wan Mahmood Pawan Teh said the posting showed that the blogger tried to drag the ruler's institution, especially Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah into politics for giving assent to the appointment of Mohd Khusrin Munawi as the new Selangor state secretary.

"His Highness should not be drawn in any political disputes. When the name of His Highness is drawn into the issue by using inappropriate words, we feel that the author should be taken to task so that his uncalled for opinion is rebutted before they spread.

"Suhaimi should not involve the sultan over the state secretary's appointment issue for political mileage," he told reporters after lodging a police report against Suhaimi at Section 6 police station in Shah Alam today.

Urging the police to investigate Suhaimi under Section 3 and 4 of the Sedition Act for the posting on Dec 30, Wan Mahmood said the words uttered by Suhaimi such as "beraja di mata, bersultan di hati" (acting at the whim and fancy) could be deemed as denigrating the ruler's institution.

As a politician and the people's representative, Wan Mahmood said Suhaimi  should respect the monarchy.
