Former Selangor menteri besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo's graft trial has been fixed for the June 6-24, period as decided by Shah Alam High Court judge Justice Mohtarudin Baki today.

NONE The judge also allowed the prosecution's application to move the case to the High Court. Khir's first court appearance was at the Sessions Court last month.

Khir, was accused of committing corruption under Section 165 of the Penal Code, by knowingly accepting a bribe, in form of two plots of land in Section 7, Shah Alam, for his mansion, at a substantial discount from one Shamsuddin Haryoni.

Shamsuddin was charged under the same provision, as well as that of the code's Section 109 for allegedly abetting Mohd Khir in committing the offence.

The land was said to have been sold to Mohd Khir for RM3.5 million, though Shamsuddin had paid RM6.5 million for it.

The former Selangor menteri besar was alleged to have committed the offence at the official residence on May 29, 2007, when he had obtained for himself and his wife Zahrah Kechik the two parcels of land and a house for RM3.5mil from Shamsuddin.

Ditamas, where Shamsuddin is a director had purchased both lots on Dec 23, 2004.
