Parti Kesejahteraan Insan Tanah Air (Kita) president Zaid Ibrahim has admitted making a request to view the sex tape allegedly involving a senior opposition leader.

NONE Asked if it was worried that he had committed an offence by viewing the video, Zaid, who once ran the nation’s biggest law firm, retorted it was offence for a top leader to do such an act on tape.

“That is not pornography, it is a documentary,” he quipped. “To me, this is not an offence, I was curious so I wanted to take a look.”

However, if it were an offence to view the tape, Zaid said that he would “pay the price for it”.

He said that he was willing to be questioned by the police, adding that Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul would suffer the same fate because he too had watched it.

Zaid did not reveal who he approached, but confirmed that not only had he watched it, he “thinks” that the person depicted looked like PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

“My eyesight say it looks like Anwar, my senses think it looks like Anwar, I think it is Anwar... I’m questioning its genuineness. But that is a question for investigators and forensic,” he said.

He said that he needed to see the video first hand, adding that he was curious.

“I want to see for myself to see whether my eyesight is good or not, and I wanted to see whether my mind is working; whether my senses are all right.

“I wanted to see if I was satisfied with what I saw; only then I can give my opinion. If I do not see, how can I talk? It is impossible. I do not want to talk rubbish, I want to see to form an opinion,” he said.
