'Oath-taking turns into a circus'

your say 'I thought the police would have arrested them for screening pornography in public but instead they offer them protection.'

Eskay takes religious oath in mosque

Kgen: Shazryl Eskay Abdullah has sworn an oath. Now let him explain how the actor in the video has close-cropped hair and while Anwar was spotted with thick hair on that day.

The way Umno goons misuse religion is disgusting. Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, Najib Razak, Eskay - they all swore oaths on the Quran, which they know to be false. They certainly do not fear God.

Mohd Zaini Husin: These are people who never believed in God to start off with. If he had allegedly tried to pay someone to get the crooked bridge contract, what difference does it make to him. God is just a tool for him to fill his pocket. So don't think to much of this oath, fellow Muslims.

Changeagent: Eskay had just sworn on oath that he is an accomplice to another man committing adultery by bringing a prostitute to him. That says enough about the type of person that he is; one that does not deserve to be listened to at all.

Anonymous_5fb: There is no more decency to talk about for those involved directly or indirectly in the shooting, showing, distribution and 'sumpah laknat' in respect of this video.

The Datuk T trio have admitted responsibility for this porn video, which is against existing laws, yet they have the protection of the police and authorities (in particular the Islamic authorities) all the way to this 'sumpah laknat' instead of detaining and charging them for the offences under criminal and syariah laws.

What we rakyat deduce from here is that all institutions involved are here to serve Umno, not Malaysia and rakyat at large. If Umno think it can help in swinging votes from Pakatan Rakyat to Umno/BN, they are definitely wrong in this. The reverse is more likely. Mark my words.

Anonymous_40f4: While the world was watching the royal wedding, we in Malaysia were watching a sex video, courtesy of Datuk T. Dr Mahathir Mohamad must be very happy with what is happening in this country because he started it all.

Malaysians Are Not Stupid: Why does the police have to provide protection to these three stooges? Isn't it a waste of taxpayers' money. I thought the police would have arrested them for screening pornography in public but instead they offer them protection. What has become of this country?

Q..!: It is sad to see BN-related people repeatedly using Islam as a cover for their unspeakable acts or conduct. These are the same people defending the religion but manipulate it according to their wimps and fancies.

If he was telling the truth let the law decide. I hope God will judge these people soon.

Louis: If Eskay is the man in the video, he must be an accomplice to the commission of crime or he was a pimp, arranging for the sex session.

Manjit Bhatia: "The Association of Shariah Lawyers had yesterday explained that such an oath must be taken by both the accused and the accuser, and that it cannot be used as proof that the allegations are true.

"In the case of adultery, its president Mohamad Isa Abd Ralip said that it is the accused who is allowed to take an oath if the accuser cannot present enough proof of his allegations. ‘If the accused takes the oath, then the allegations will be dropped,' he said.'

So why pursue the oath taking at all? And what would it prove? Nothing. It's all a sideshow. A circus. And if in the end, Eskay can't produce evidence beyond doubt, I'd like to see him whipped 80 times. The other two Datuk Ts too. And it should be telecast live.

Justice Pao: This is further proof of PDRM (police) working with the porn peddlers - the light strike force escorting the Datuk Ts. Why should the BN government waste public money protecting these bunch of crooks?

GO4CHANGE: These brood of vipers have cheapened their religion and made a mockery of the sacred Islam. When we look at their background, we will understand that religion means nothing to them except to be used as their means to achieve their wicked ends. Shame on them.

Constitutional Pendatang: This a most shameful act. To take an oath upon a holy book that a sin had been committed with the intention to besmirch the reputation of another human being. However you rationalise this action, it is morally wrong.

Please do not involve the Almighty in this sort of undertaking because He said, "Judge not lest ye be judged". I feel disgust but also sorrow for Eskay. If you sleep well tonight, then I say your conscience is hardened.

Docs: Bullet proof vest? Is Eskay worried that Allah may reign down terror on him for lying?

Pandemonium ahead of Eskay's oath-taking

Gen2: It is not okay to show a flying rickshaw on TV but it is okay to show smut on TV. It is not okay to do yoga or dance poco-poco but it is okay to use a mosque for an obvious political purpose.

It is not okay in Islam to publicise ( aibkan ) another Muslim's shortcomings but it is okay if he is from the opposition. Jakim and people like the Perak mufti, who are paid with taxpayers' money, should justify their fat salary by coming out and condemning these actions which degrade the image of Islam instead of concentrating on trivial issues like yoga and poco-poco.

Rayfire: For both sides of the political divide, please take your fight and dirty politics out of places of worship. Don't taint it with political dirt and maintain the sanctity of the place of worship.

The people who have sinned or is about to commit a sin will be answerable to God. So let them proceed with their ‘sumpah laknat'. It is between them and God. There is no point having shouting match and bring shame to the religion.

Ruben: What a sad day for all of us. A man whose own credibility is questionable has manipulated and used religion for his own evil ulterior motives. I wonder what the National Fatwa Council and the state ulama have to say about this practice.
