While Umno president Najib Razak was urging some 1,500 party members to work hard to keep the party in the power at its 65th anniversary dinner last night, some members were indulging in the juicy parts of an anti-Anwar book titled God, Politics and Sex .

The 555-page book in Malay, authored by controversial writer Syed Hussein Al Attas, was distributed to all party members in their goodie bags during the dinner.

NONE It contained details of PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim's alleged sexual misconduct, and insinuations about the opposition leader's sexual orientation.

The front-page showed a doctored Anwar's portrait with blonde hair, red lips and red nails, coupled with a "18SX" label.

Among others, the book said that PKR logo symbolises bisexuality.

Several photographs of Anwar while he was still the deputy prime minister were published in the book to highlight his relationship with several women.

To the surprise of many, the scandal of MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek, who had admitted he was the person in a sex DVD, was also mentioned by the book.

It commended Chua as a "true MCA leader" for his confession and compared him with a "certain leader" who was also involved in similar scandal but refused to admit it.

Over a decade ago, another controversial book - ‘50 dalil kenapa Anwar tidak boleh jadi PM' (50 reasons why Anwar cannot be PM) - was inserted into the goodie bags at the 1998 Umno general assembly.

Written by Khalid Jafri, an ex-editor of Utusan Malaysia, the book included allegations that Anwar is a homosexual. Obviously sanctioned by top Umno leaders, ‘50 dalil’ kicked off the campaign against Anwar, who was then deputy premier.
