Umno Supreme Council member Rais Yatim today called on Umno members not listed as winnable candidates for the 13th general election to remain loyal to the party and continue supporting its decision.

"Who will be listed as candidates is a non-issue.

NONE "Only those who meet the requirements or those deemed as winnable candidates will be the pillars of Barisan Nasional in facing the next electoral battles," he told reporters after attending a luncheon with Jelebu Umno delegates at Putra World Trade Centre today.

Rais said the most important move to take was for Umno members to close ranks and understand the message given by Umno president Najib Razak about the characters and elements that should be upheld by Umno people.

Najib, in his policy speech at the opening of the 2011 Umno General Assembly yesterday, emphasised that as Umno people, the elements that they must uphold were loyalty, love for the party and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the party.
