Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has called on the federal government to release the Auditor-General's Report during today's sitting of Parliament.

This should be done so that the state can also release its audit report, which was submitted to the state on Aug 30.

NONE "Why is it so late? The delay is not acceptable. They should table the AG's Report in Parliament as soon as possible," Lim told a press conference today.

"The federal government has been sitting on it for one-and-a-half months. I am sure the reports of the other states are also available," Lim added.

Lim said the state would table the report in the state legislative assembly on Nov 1, when it sits.

Asked whether the report was favourable to Penang, Lim declined to comment.

"Any non-compliance or weaknesses or improvements to be made on our part, we take it with an open heart. If there are untrue allegations, we will answer," he said.

"The most important thing is that everyone has the right to know what's in the report," he said, adding that the state had to comply with procedures and wait for the federal government to table the whole report in Parliament before it could do so.
