DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang said he may contest under PAS' banner in the upcoming general election should the Registrar of Societies (ROS) de-register his own party for its polls blunder in December last year.

NONE In a series of postings on Twitter, Lim ( right ) said there was no reason for ROS to suspend DAP but expressed concern about a conspiracy to prevent the party from contesting under its own banner in the national polls.

"(If that happens), then DAP candidates may stand as independents or borrow the symbols of PAS or PKR.

"If BN abuses power (to have DAP de-registered), I might use PAS' symbol in (the) 13 general election to solidify Pakatan Rakyat," he said in his posting.

Lim was responding to calls by former DAP vice-chairperson Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim for ROS to act against DAP for refusing to hold fresh party elections.

DAP had on Jan 3 admitted botching up in its party polls where mistakes were made during the tallying process and had subsequently gone through the whole process again.

This prompted the ROS to initiate an investigation against the party.

According to a Utusan Malaysia report today, ROS had complained about facing difficulties in its probe as some DAP central executive committee members were proving to be uncooperative.

NONE "We have sent a DAP leader a notice to give a statement but the person has yet to show up, giving the lack of time excuse," ROS  director general Abdul Rahman Othman ( left ) was quoted as saying.

He told the daily that de-registration was one of the actions that could be taken against the party but stressed that it would only be done after the investigation was over.

"ROS respects the law and we will act according to legal provisions and will not succumb to pressure, the investigation has still a long way to go..," he was quoted as saying.
