Umno supreme council member Saifuddin Abdullah concurs with the view that his party should be more vocal in condemning the rising incidents of political violence as the 13th general election draws near.

"I agree. It's about time that we come forward with a stronger statement," he told KiniTV in an interview.

NONE Saifuddin, who is the Temerloh MP and deputy higher education minister, noted though that Umno has already made it clear that such incidents should be investigated by the police.

"Sometimes what happens is (that) there are instigators who may not necessarily represent either side of the divide,” he said.

The BN should further acknowledge that some of the people support Pakatan Rakyat and, therefore, should not snub the federal opposition coalition's manifesto, he said.

"When a significant number of MPs are elected (from) among Pakatan candidates, it shows to a certain extent that people give some value to their manifesto. So, it is only fair (that) we give it a look,” he said.

"We should not have a Parliament where one side monopolises all the Bills and issues to be discussed. We need to be consultative.”
