Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today continued with his meetings with the chairpersons of state Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno liaison committees at the Perdana Putra building in Putrajaya.

The meetings, which began at 8am, are believed to have focused on finalising the list of BN candidates for the 13th general election, due to be called at any time now.

Among those who were seen entering the building this morning were Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud, Perlis Menteri Besar Dr Md Isa Sabu, Penang Umno liaison committee chairperson Zainal Abidin Osman and Perlis Umno liaison committee deputy chairperson Shahidan Kassim.

The meetings were also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Zainal Abidin, who slowed down his car as he entered and left the building, just said “All okay” to the 30 or so journalists who had been waiting from as early as 7am at the entrance of the building.

Shahidan also said the same thing, and added: “May God bless you all. Long Live the BN!”

In the afternoon, those seen going for the meetings were Kedah Umno liaison committee chairperson Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah and deputy chairperson Mukhriz Mahathir, as well as Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Mohamad Hasan.

Mohamad told reporters the list of candidates had yet to be finalised and there was much more to discuss.

The last of the cars to leave the building was that carrying Kelantan Umno liaison committee chairperson Mustapa Mohamed.

Sources had said that all the leaders of BN component parties would be meeting with the prime minister today, but they were not seen entering or leaving the Perdana Putra building.
