Perlis mufti Juanda Jaya is far from confirmed as the PKR candidate for the Kangar parliamentary seat, as has been reported by a daily.

azlan Denying a Star Online report today, Juanda said no one has contacted him to contest the seat in Perlis.

Perlis PKR chief Mohd Faisol Abdul Rahman was quoted as saying in the Star Online report that Juanda would run for the seat under the party’s banner, and that it is confident he would win.

“At this point, there is no final decision (on my contesting in Kangar). No leader has met me or informed me about this,” Juanda said in a text message when contacted.

When contacted, Mohd Faisol said he was awaiting official confirmation from PKR headquarters as negotiations were still in progress.

“I only said that if PKR gets the Kangar seat, Juanda will be the candidate,” Mohd Faisol clarified.

This also clears the air, given that PAS has announced its intention to contest all three parliamentary seats in Perlis, including Kangar.
