Women, Family and Community Development Minister Rohani Abdul Karim has refused to respond to a memorandum from a Mongolian delegation that sought her help to provide answers to the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

NONE Rohani ( right ) told a press conference today that the Mongolian delegation had not approached her with the memorandum.

Also, she said, the case has already been dealt with.

“In the first place, I was there and I never received any letter. The delegates never approached me,” Rohani said, referring to the Global Summit of Women held in Kuala Lumpur last week.

“The subject has been dealt with. I would not like to comment because for one, they never approached me,” she said.

 

“The Mongolian delegatation was the largest group that attended the summit. We welcomed them. We want them to see that Malaysia is not what and how some people have painted us."

altantuya and son 050309 The Mongolian Women's Federation - which attended the summit - at a press conference last Friday urged the Malaysian government to provide answers to the mysterious death of Altantuya and to convene a new trial.

"It is still important to run a new court hearing and find justice," reads the letter the group released.

The group also sought the support of the government and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for Altantuya's two children, as they are growing up without their mother.

The delegation claimed that it had no avenue to give the letter to the ministry, and that this was done with the help of the Mongolian Students Association of Malaysia.
