Coup in the making, cries former DAP Kedah chief

Former DAP Kedah chairperson Lee Guan Aik has accused the party's central leadership of wanting to oust incumbent leaders in the state.

Producing a compact disc which allegedly contained a recording of DAP assistant national organising secretary Thomas Su, Lee claimed Su had openly admitted that the central leadership wanted to oust the incumbent line-up in Kedah.

"He said if it is not done (oust Kedah leaders), my group will surely win in the coming re-election," Lee (right) was quoted as saying in Sinar Harian today.

Prior to the May 5 general election, Lee who was initially announced as an election candidate in Kedah was abruptly removed.

Under the stewardship of DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, the party had appointed an interim committee to lead Kedah DAP.

Lim's political secretary Zairil Khir Johari, who is also Bukit Bendera MP, was tasked to head the committee.

Lee also claimed that the manner in which members of the interim committee were appointed did not comply with the party's constitution.
