Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming said the leaders from the two political parties were outspoken enough to raise their opposing views, only by issuing statements and holding press conferences outside Parliament.
“But when it comes to Parliament, they (MCA and Gerakan leaders) are yes-men (

),” said Nga during a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.
Yesterday, among other 115 BN MPs, MCA and Gerakan MPS voted for the PCA amendment bill, allowing the controversial bill to be passed.
Nga named several leaders like Gerakan acting president Chang Ko Youn and MCA’s Heng Seai Kie who had opposed the two-year detention without trial under the amendments.
“Three times Pakatan Rakyat challenged MCA and Gerakan MPs to oppose the draconian law, but their talk is not the same as action ( cakap tak serupa bikin ),” Nga lamented.
As political parties with integrity, Nga said, MCA and Gerakan should be responsible and the people should not be cheated in this way.
