Pakatan MPs willing to be hostages, if plane hijacked

PARLIAMENT Pakatan Rakyat MPs are willing to offer themselves as "hostages" if Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 is confirmed to have been hijacked.

PAS' Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar said he suspects that such negotiations have begun.

"If (the plane) is somewhere, tell us where, and we are willing to be substitutes for the 239 passengers as hostages,” Mahfuz ( right ) said today.

The offer, he said, was not a personal one, but based on the unanimous decision of all Pakatan leaders.

"The plane was deliberately steered off course. This signals a hijacking," Mahfuz said in the Dewan Rakyat today when debating the royal address.

The flight's whereabouts are still unknown, after nine days, with investigations now focusing on two corridors, the northern corridor from Kazakhstan to northern Thailand and the southern corridor from Indonesia to the southern Indian Ocean.

MH370, en route to Beijing, went missing shortly after take off from the KL International Airport on the early morning of March 8, with 239 on board including 12 crew members and two infants.
